"Begin at once to live. And count each separate day as a separate life."

What's on your future life agenda?

What you got cooking?

What's the plan?

What you hatching and scheming?

You got your life strategy all mapped out, with all days and minutes accounted for?

You may have noticed that living up to something like that, takes a daily toll, creates a strain, has you maybe not really liking and loving your day, all because of having to live your best life and and to be your your ultimate best each and every day.

Is that something to be inspired by?

Is that a way to be that'll have you live happily, productively, profitably?

Well...

That's the kind of messaging that's being manufactured and blurted out, both by the old and by the new self-growth gurus and know-all life proclaimers on the internet block.

And yet... there's a potentially better way to live.

What is it?

To live fully, today, in each moment.

To write, and love, and care for, and for you to do your work in all its kaleidoscopic life dimensions that show up each day.

You don't need to know who Seneca was to benefit from and take practical advantage of what he had to say.

Especially this incredible, powerful helping of practical wisdom and insight:

Begin at once to live. And count each separate day as a separate life.

There are a few valuable lessons packed into those 14 words.

The MAIN lesson?

There's no thread, no umbilical cord, no dependent attachment in what happened yesterday, that links it to today. There's no mental history lesson of confusion or frustration to dish out and recount.

That's because...

Each day is a separate life. They're separate cubicles. Interconnected yet interdependent.

So, begin to live it.

Create each day the way you'd like to to be. Create YOU the way you'd like you to be.

So how do you do that? How do you be that? How exactly do you create your being each day so you can be the kind of person who creates their day into one separate life, on a daily basis?

Begin asking this question when you find yourself in a funk, a fog, in a misty sea of boredom, delusion or depression...when you feel fearful, sacred, troubled, mentally bamboozled and overwhelmed:

Here's the question --

Who do I need to BE / what kind of person do I need to be who is being the opposite of the person who was being that foggy faced, frustrated soul sinking into depressive thoughts?

I think you'll find within a short space of time of asking yourself that question (and please, do it on a piece of paper, and not just mentally) you'll see a list unfold and emerge that'll show you exactly the traits, habits, behaviours, language and actions attributed to the kind of person who is being the opposite of the person above.

So BE those very same traits, habits, behaviours, language and actions.

Because, all actions, activities and doing, comes from and out of, who we're being, in each and every moment.

(And if you want to know all about being, and how to alter and shift who you're being in each moment, and to do it a systematic and scientifically proven way, then this is your ultimate resource)

Is there a link between who we're being, and in living each day as a separate, happy life?

I'd say the link is huge as it is priceless. In fact, it's everything

Because what we end up doing and creating in each and every moment inside each day, comes from and out of, who it is we're being in each moment.

Being the being with a switched on awareness lamp inside each moment, and then creating ourselves in each moment, IS the daily miracle we can all own and use.

So, begin at once to live, now, here, inside this very moment.

And repeat the process, daily, daily, daily.

So yes. count each separate day as a separate, wonderful life.

Because... who knows how many of them we've all got left!

Creating Something From Nothing

What's been a powerful instructive, liberating lesson, is the idea and possibility of creating Something out of Nothing.

Of shifting our being and mind, making things up and then...sending it out into the world.
TBOLITNFL. What is that? It's an acronym for -- The Best Offensive Linesman in the NFL
And yet...
It's nothing to do with American football. It's Tongan for Personal Inner Commitment. It was all made up. Conjured. Created. And became a global movement. Nothing. Something.
The Book of Being/The Ultimate Coach, was nothing but a thought in a gentleman's mind. It's now been created into something expansive that's now spawning multiple mini-movements and transformational communities within it. Nothing. Something.
Tracksuit Thursday was nothing but an idea. A thought. It's now a world wide movement where adidas tracksuits are the chosen attire for the day, at home or in the workplace. Nothing Something.
Nothing Something creations can be hatched, schemed, created and applied to anything
And the practice of turning Nothing into Something isn't only reserved for the BIG game-changing stuff of our lives, careers or businesses.
The good news?
You do not need to be some creative genius or have a PhD in NothingSomething-ology. We don't need to be Picasso, Einstein or Da Vinci.
Because we can all practice creating these little mini shifts all day long in each and every single thing we're involved with doing, right in this very moment.
We can practice turning nothing (even the dreary and mundane) into something useful, practical, profitable.
A few examples:
Washing dishes? Turns into 4SM -- a Four Seasons Masterclass in cleaning polishing and drying.
Walking the dog? Turns into PBT -- creating committed Private Bonding Time with the furry royalty.
Putting out the rubbish bags? Turns into GFT -- Glorious Feeding Time for the ravenous wheelie bins.
How to get more clients or customers? Turns into TLL -- an opportunity to Transform the Lives and Livelihoods of those potential clients and customers you interact with.
Replying to messages and emails? Turns into SCICUV -- an un-precedented, laser focussed opportunity to Serve, Coach, Inspire and Create Untold Value for the recipient/reader.
Opportunities to turn Nothing into Something exists EVERYWHERE we look, turn, interact.
And that's a joyful secret remedy if we find our lives, relationships, communications, businesses and professions are lacking in spirit, fun, entertainment... life!
There's no specific deadline or time frame to begin creating something from nothing.
You can begin applying it today. Right in this very moment.

Don't Just Report It... CREATE It!!

Rafael NADAL - 8 Time French Open Tennis Champion June 2013

If you don't know the story, Rafael Nadal was out of the men's professional tennis game for several months since July 2012 with a chronic knee injury.

That's a LONG time to be out. Especially when you have players who are improving whilst you aren't even in the game.

And so it makes Nadal's victory in the French Open in Paris, all the more remarkable. (He also created  history by being the only player to win a major SLAM tournament... EIGHT TIMES!)

His play throughout the fortnight was SENSATIONAL. He played like the fearless swashbuckling gladiator he's famed for. His tennis really did...take your breath away.

It's like he's never been away.

Incredibly, his speed, power, agility, mental toughness was better than it's ever been.

How so?

His incredible persistence. A close team of people around him who helped, coached, nurtured and brought him back to life. A group of people who were deeply committed to the process of rejuvenation, rehabilitation and in fact, re-CREATION.

And now look; don't let this piece of writing or Nadal's efforts be something that's just reported on event. Don't let it be a piece that's hoarded in the database of your own mind. Let it be a powerful catalyst for you and I to create a similar piece of extraordinary magic in what we do.

Let's not us just marvel at Nadal. Let's be deeply inspired by him. Let's take his formula for winning and apply the same kind of discipline, the same kind of practice, the same kind of commitment and dedication to create something incredible in our own lives.

It doesn't matter WHAT we apply the 'Nadal Formula' to -- whether it's our job, our business, our communications, our sporting endeavours, our relationships, ... whatever it is we want to be better at, why not we learn from the best in the way they become the best?

So let's not be like the stuck-in-the-seat pundits and tv commentators, reporting on an incredible event with energy and enthusiasm, which eventually dies a death when the tv programme scheduling ends.

(And incredibly, there are very very few tennis commentators and pundits who really inspire by their words, their comments, their energy and enthusiasm that it makes you wonder at the hiring and selection process.)

Let's not be inspired by those couch potato type reporter people, because listen, we can all get energised and high when we report on something, we can all do that, it doesn't take that much skill or learning for us to do that.

Let's be inspired by the people who motivate, inspire, gets us into action.

Let's be inspired by someone who is humble, magnanimous and has a character of gold.

Why not have that inspiration be someone like Nadal?

The Perfect Day - What Does YOURS Look Like?

I don't know if you've ever thought about what a PERFECT DAY would look like for you. Can you remember answering such a question?

And the thing about it is that if we don't create or paint a picture of what our perfect day really looks like, tastes like, feels like... then we won't know what it looks like when it arrives!

The sad fact of the matter is that even daring to mention a perfect day, send many people into a spin - like... who are you, some wizard with a magic lantern who can conjur up perfect days! You're in cloud cuckoo land, there's no such thing!'

I've been doing some research into the very nature of what a perfect day looks like for people.

Below, you can see an account of someone who's a creative fabric designer and you can hear how she describes what a perfect day means and looks like, to her;

What's your definition of a perfect day?

Wake up early with coffee and toast. Spend 2 hours in the garden before the rest of the house wakes up and then take a family walk with the dogs by the river. I would spend the afternoon in the studio just tinkering – testing new stitches, plotting a new wall piece, sifting through my stash of vintage cotton – without a deadline or any must dos. The day would end with a delicious outdoor dinner with my husband and two boys, accompanied by chilled wine and evening bird song… These kinds of days don’t come around that often. Life is just too busy most of the time. But it is always something to strive for…

Okay, there are a few things here that are super important. Follow along with me and I promise that you'll see a MINDSHIFT about to take place.

"These kinds of days don't come around too often"

What's the truth about THAT?

Well, these kind of days don't create themselves out of thin air. They have to be first put into the playground of our mind - painted, created, lovingly, artfully, deliberately, on purpose.

Rarely does a fabulous experience, happen by accident. It must be designed.

And, our creative friend hasn't paid attention to the creation of her own days.

"Life's too busy most of the time... "

And what's the reality of that?

Life doesn't say to us... "okay, it's a gonna be real busy around here so let's not even think about enjoying life for at least a few months, got that? "

Life didn't get together and have a hasty conference with all the other elements out there that go to make up the scenario of "life's too busy" and said... 'we're gonna let him have it'... NONE of that happened. And it's good that we know it didn't happen like that because then we can stop living the lie that "Life's too busy" and we can stop acting as if we didn't have any part to play in it being so busy.

The fact of the matter is WE'VE created a life that's pretty much out of control whenever we say - 'we're too busy'.

I mean, it gets boring, monotonous and gives us the insight that this person really is working for a lunatic... THEMSELVES!!

When we're open and frank and can say I don't know how to create a life of importance to the things that matter most to me and that I soak myself up in the illusion of busyness and got too much to do because I've not taken the time to create anything different or in fact, I don't want another point of view BECAUSE I'VE GOTTEN ACCUSTOMED to living life this way and have bought into the LIFE TRAP that says BEING BUSY AND FOCUSSED ALL THE TIME equals SUCCESS!

Aha! The success scenario. Oh Yes. We've got to measure up to what society says we must BE so, we've got to strive and put our shoulder, mind, brain and sanity to the wheel in order to get the approval, validation, annointing, the SPECIAL PRIVILEGE into the club of the successful burnouts who have no life to talk of apart from when asked - what's your perfect day look like?

And then, the scampering begins.

I have a number of friends and colleagues who all practice SLOWING DOWN their lives in order to enjoy every single moment of it. And, in the doing of this slowing down, there's the real experience of more prosperity, more fun, more excitement, more adventure, more possibilities and... simply fabulous conversations.

Howcome that's so?

Well, we all PRACTICE it. We've made it a sweet and courageous discipline out of it and... IT'S PRETTY FABULOUS to be part of it all.

What's your perfect day look like?
